Historic Timber Frame Barn Receives New Life

W Architecture has designed the renovation of an historic timber frame barn in Western Massachusetts. The barn structure will be transformed into a modern guesthouse with a full kitchen and several bedrooms.
As part of the restoration process, the contractor, a specialist in timber framing, has deconstructed the barn and reassembled it in his workshop for repair and for making necessary changes to the structure. On a site visit to the workshop last fall, we took some photos of the progress.
